HELP CENTER

While this may not answer everything,

there are many answered questions.
This section will continue to grow as I add more info.

If you have other questions click the button below.

WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE FISH?

Although fish are important to the aquaponic process, if you don't want to raise and harvest fish, you can instead use decorative fish like goldfish or koi in your system.

WHAT DO I DO IF MY FISH DIE?

Remove the fish immediately!
Fish carcasses can contaminate the system and lead to more problems.

WHAT KIND OF VEGETABLES CAN I GROW?

You can grow just about any veggies in our systems. The best vegetables are leafy greens and water heavy plants such as lettuce, cucumbers, and tomatoes.

WHAT KIND OF VEGETABLES SHOULD I NOT GROW?

Since there is not actual dirt in our systems, root vegetables do not grow well. Veggies such as potatoes, carrots, radishes do not work well.

CAN I GROW FRUITS?

It is not recommended. Fruit tree roots go deep into the soil Deeper than our system provides. Berry roots often try to take over systems and choke out other veggies.

WHAT KIND OF MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED?

Day to day about the only maintenance is feeding the fish, checking the water levels, and adding water. Water evaporates and is absorbed into the plants. So, keeping water levels at appropriate levels is essential. However weekly Ph level checks and cleaning should be done. However, to help with this, I have made a weekly cleaning service available where I will come and clean the system for you.

ARE THE FISH FARM-ABLE?

YES!! The tilapia in the system are completely farm able.  Once they get to about a pound each you can take them out of the system and eat them for your next dinner.
